• Nominate worthy students, faculty and staff for Spirit of St. Thomas awards

    The Annual Spirit of St. Thomas Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 28, in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.  This is your chance to recognize students, advisers and organizations for their great leadership during the year.  Anyone may nominate those who they feel deserve recognition.  nomination packets are available outside of the Campus Life Office, Room 111,  Murray-Herrick Campus Center or online. Look for SOST nomination Packet 2003.

    Outstanding Contribution to Leadership
    Possible nominees: All University of St. Thomas Students

    Eligible nominators: All members (student, faculty and staff) of the St. Thomas community

    The Outstanding Contribution to Leadership Award, given to a first-year, sophomore, junior and senior student, recognizes members of each academic class whose leadership is a reflection of the leadership mission of positive social change and a powerful testimony to the virtues of St. Thomas.

    Greg Marzolf Jr. Commuter Award
    Possible nominees: All St. Thomas first-year, sophomore or junior commuter students

    Eligible nominators: All members (student, faculty and staff) of the St. Thomas community

    The Greg Marzolf Commuter Award is given to the commuter student who, through dedication and disciplined application, has exercised talents and abilities in an extraordinary manner.  Through the exercising of these talents and abilities, the commuter student has overcome significant obstacles to achieve excellence in academics, extracurricular activities and community pursuits. 

    New Student-Organization of the Year
    Possible nominees: All St. Thomas student organizations (officially recognized for less than one academic year)

    Eligible nominators: All St. Thomas student organizations and/or advisers

    Awarded to the student club or organization that has been officially registered with the Campus Life office for less than one academic year, has most significantly influenced positive growth of its individual members and enhanced the UST community in such a way to represent the best that UST students have to offer.

    Executive Excellence Award
    Possible nominees: St. Thomas student organization executive board members/elected officers

    Eligible nominators: All members (student, faculty and staff) of the St. Thomas community

    Awarded to the student executive board member or elected officer of an individual club or organization who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to fostering shared vision and goals within the organization and been instrumental in the support and development of club members.

    Community Citizenship Award
    Possible nominees: All St. Thomas student organizations

    Eligible nominators: All St. Thomas student organizations, advisers or community service agencies

    Awarded to a student club or organization for the service project that has most significantly impacted the community agency, its clients and club member.  

    Club Adviser of the Year Award
    Possible nominees: All University of St. Thomas student organization advisers

    Eligible nominators: All St. Thomas student organizations

    This award is sponsored by Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society, and given annually to an adviser of a registered student club or organization.  The club adviser of the year is a person who has been instrumental in helping to make the present academic school year a success for his/her designated club or organization.  The club adviser of the year should be someone who is considered to be a valuable resource and connection to other university clubs and departments.

    Outstanding Student Employee Award
    Possible nominees: All University of St. Thomas student employees

    Eligible nominators: All St. Thomas student employee supervisors

    This award recognizes a student employee and graduate assistant/intern who has shown exemplary work in his/her employment at the University of St. Thomas.

    Clubs That Excel Award
    Possible nominees: All University of St. Thomas students

    Eligible nominators: All members (student, faculty and staff) of the St. Thomas community

    This award recognizes clubs and organizations that have shown exemplary work in service and programming during the 2001-2002 academic year are eligible.

    Outstanding Student Organization Member of the Year Award
    Possible nominees: All St. Thomas student organization members

    Eligible nominators: All members (student, faculty and staff) of the St. Thomas community

    Awarded to the student club or organization member, who does not hold an elected or appointed position, who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to the growth and development of the organization and its members during this year.
