Dr. Dwight Nelson, Biology Department, will give two presentations, "Biology of Mind: Peeking Inside the Black Box," from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 15 and 24, in 3M Auditorium, Owens Science Hall.

These seminars will provide a brief overview of introductory brain biology (neuroscience) and review a few applications of modern neuroscience techniques that help to understand the physical basis for human thought and consciousness. Also discussed will be brain "changes," such as "rewiring" and even new cell growth, that are observed when brains learn new things.
