All departments are invited to participate in the Student Employment Job Fair from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Campus Square, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
The fair, hosted by Human Resources and the Office of Student Financial Services, gives departments and opportunity to meet and recruit students for employment opportunities during the 2002-2003 academic year.
To participate and reserve a table for your department or organization, please contact Susan McDougall in Human Resources, (651) 962-6575.
Plan to bring a sign for your table and any application or promotional materials.
Attend supervisor training for info on pay rates, filling out contracts
Pay rates for student positions will remain the same as those last year. Rates will be effective beginning Sept. 3, the date student employment contracts begin for the academic year.
Rates for specific positions are determined using established pay and ranking guidelines. Information on student pay guidelines and changes in completing student contacts will be presented in training sessions for student supervisors.
The sessions will be held:
For further information and registration, go to the Training and Development Web site or call (651) 962-6900.
Supervisors will need to complete student contracts indicating the working title of the position and the pay grid and level of the position (for example, office assistant – regular level 1, or computer lab assistant II – technical level 1).
Human Resources will enter the appropriate pay rate on the contact. As new student positions are developed, Human Resources still will need to have job descriptions (now done online as part of the posting process) to determine positions’ levels and grids.
Pay grids can be found on the student supervisor page. (You will need your UST username and password to enter this part of the Human Resources Web site.)
