Robert Ulrich, chairman and chief executive officer of Target Corp., will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree and deliver the commencement address at the University of St. Thomas summer graduation exercises.
About 300 graduate and undergraduate degrees will be awarded at the annual summer graduation exercises that will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 20, in Schoenecker Arena.
A reception will follow on the campus’ lower quadrangle.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota 34 years ago, Ulrich began his career as a merchandising trainee at Dayton’s. Target is now the parent company of Marshall Field’s (including the former Dayton’s) as well as Mervyn’s and Target Stores.
