Applications are due Friday, April 14, in the Dean of Student Life office, Room 101, Murray-Herrick Campus Center, for positions as fall orientation leaders.
Each year about 1,000 first-year students attend the University of St. Thomas. Orientation helps them make an easier transition from high school to college. At UST, the orientation program has two components: Summer Orientation and Fall Welcome. Summer Orientation is held over three weeks in July; new students spend two days getting to know the campus and learning about St. Thomas. Fall Welcome takes place Labor Day weekend; new students move into their residence halls and a wide variety of activities are planned for them.
Sixteen summer orientation leaders were selected last month. This month, 65 fall orientation leaders will be selected and assigned to a group of 10-15 students with whom they will work over Labor Day Weekend. Fall leaders also are paired with faculty advisers and assist with the Freshman Year Program for four to six sessions in the fall semester.
