The Residence Hall Association, in collaboration with the All College Council, will kick off a new food-drive competition, Game of the Heart, beginning at 4:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 16, in Scooter’s, lower level, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
Free food and refreshments will be offered until 6 p.m.
All students, faculty and staff are asked to participate in the game. Bring your nonperishable food items to the kick-off party.
From Feb. 16 through March 18, the Residence Hall Association and the All College Council will host this competition between St. Thomas and the College of St. Benedict-St. John’s University. Drop boxes for nonperishable food items will be available throughout the month at various locations around campus. All donations will be given to Caring and Sharing Hands, a nonprofit agency in Minneapolis that provides aid to the needy and homeless.

The RHA and ACC also will sponsor two shuttles to the Tommy-Johnnie men’s basketball game Feb. 16 in Collegeville. The cost is two nonperishable food items that must be dropped off at Scooter’s prior to the 5:45 p.m. bus departure. Students must be wristbanded to ride the bus.
In addition, the RHA and ACC encourage food donations by students, faculty and staff who plan to attend the lecture by civil rights lawyer Morris Dees at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.
