Bands to battle at ‘Scootstock’ tonight

Seven bands will compete for cash prizes at ‘Scootstock’ from 8 p.m. to midnight tonight, Nov. 17, in Scooter’s.
Music industry professionals will do the judging. The third-place winners get $100, the second-place band gets $300, and the first-place winner gets $500 in cash and the opportunity to open for the band featured at Send-Off in the spring.
Here’s the schedule:
- 8 p.m.– 4PPM, a UST rock ‘n’ roll band
- 8:30 p.m. — Sky High, a UST band that plays alternative, blues and punk music
- 9 p.m. — 10W-40, a roots rock band made up of UST graduate students
- 9:30 p.m. — Heed, based at the University of Minnesota, plays funk, rock and blues
- 10 p.m. — Erich and Rob, UST seniors who play rock music
- 10:30 p.m. — S.U.S.P.E.C.T.S. is a Macalester College hip-hop band
- 11 p.m. — KGB, a UST rock band
Listen to the bands and, from 8 to 10 p.m., eat pizza for $1 a slice.
