Schubert Club’s Metro Area Artist Series
The season’s opening concert of the Schubert Club’s Metro Artist Series will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, in the Ramsey County Room, Courtroom 317 (a turn-of-the-century wood-paneled courtroom) in downtown St. Paul’s Landmark Center, 75 W. Fifth St.
This varied program will include Spanish art songs, 20th century Brazilian songs and Claude Debussy’s exotic piano cycle "Estampes." Seating is limited to 100. There is no admission charge.

Courtroom Concert Series
This Schubert Club series of noon-hour recitals will begin at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, in Courtroom 326 at the Landmark Center. These concerts are free and open to the public. The audience is welcome to bring a lunch; complimentary coffee will be served.
Featured performers for the first program are Ruth Bruell, soprano, and 16-year-old Ariana Kim, violin.
The series continues at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, in Courtroom 312 at the Landmark Center. Susana Pinto, pianist, a native of Portugal and a member of the St. Thomas Conservatory of Music, will present music of Debussy and Chopin. Also, the Dolce Wind Quintet, whose members are drawn from the Minneapolis Civic and Rochester Orchestras’ woodwind sections will perform the “Quintet” by Charles Delaney.
The Courtroom Concert Series, which runs from Oct. 21 through April 27, is co-sponsored by the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Minnesota Landmarks. It features talented performers from the Twin Cities metropolitan area in recital. Each concert lasts one hour and highlights two contrasting artists or ensembles. From October through January, the series will be hosted by Cynthia Lohman, who is well-known in the Twin Cities for her work with Minnesota Opera and Theatre de la Jeune Lune.
