The Minnesota Cultural Diversity Center’s Sixth Annual Video Conference will be broadcast live from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 7, in Room 305, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center on the St. Paul campus, and in Room 448 on the Minneapolis campus.
The conference, “Work-Life Balance: Gaining a Competitive Edge by Creating a Productive and Inclusive Work Environment,” will feature a presentation by Barbara Nobles Crawford on work-life balance. Also, leaders from employee network groups from various businesses and organizations will join performers from the Pillsbury House Theatre Company to present strategies to instill a sense of contribution and pride in the workplace.
Organizations face major questions and adversities as they realize that active diversity measures need to be taken to create a better working world. Private businesses, government agencies and educational institutions continue to search for the formula that makes a workplace mindful of work-life issues and respectful of differences. Thriving organizations and attentive individuals recognize the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive work environment for greater productivity and retention.
