• Need support? Personal Counseling offers groups

The personal counseling staff of Counseling and Career Services will sponsor four groups this fall. All groups are free to UST students.

Grief/Loss Support Group: This group provides a forum for students to share feelings related to experiences of grief or loss. Meet with others in a safe and supportive atmosphere and gain a better understanding of how to manage through emotionally difficult times. The group will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursdays beginning the second week in October in the Personal Counseling office. Contact Heide Malat or Dr. Colette Kuhn, (651) 962-6780, for further information.

Single Parent’s Support Group: Sometimes being a single parent is exhausting. You may feel isolated, overburdened, unappreciated. This group offers a place to meet with other single parents to talk about common concerns, develop ways to manage time and patience, and just get support. The group will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Oct. 6 in the Personal Counseling office. Contact Dr. Steve Maurer or Jane Rauenhorst, (651) 962-6780, for further information.

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Student Group: This group provides a forum for gay, lesbian or bisexual students to meet with each other to share experiences and concerns. The group will meet from noon to 1 p.m. every other Tuesday in Room 212, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center. Dates for fall are Sept. 28, Oct. 12 and 26, Nov. 9 and 23, and Dec. 7. Contact Dr. Jeri Rockett, (651) 962-6780, or Sister Sharon Howell, (651) 962-6461, for further information.

Relationships Group: Relationships have you confused? People driving you crazy? The Relationships Group provides a confidential atmosphere in which to talk about concerns in our different relationships (family, friends, self, significant others, etc.). It will meet from noon to 1:15 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Oct. 12 in the Personal Counseling office. Contact Dr. Sarah Armstrong or Kate Boyle, (651) 962-6780, for further information.
