All UST freshmen participating in one of the following ensembles: Women's Choir, Chamber Singers, Liturgical Choir, Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, or Guitar Ensemble, are eligible for the freshman option program. This program provides non-music major freshmen the opportunity to take 30-minute elective level lessons free of charge. The discount may be applied both fall and spring semesters. The freshman option applies to vocal lessons for students participating in the UST choirs. For UST band members, the discount applies to music lessons on the instrument played in the ensemble. Freshman music majors recieve a 50 percent reduction on their first year of performance level lessons. The freshman option provides a savings of approximately $1,000 per year for both music majors and non-majors.
