
Music scholarships are awarded to active or incoming music majors only. To be eligible for and retain a scholarship, a student is required to maintain an overall GPA of 3.0. Music scholarships are awarded in the amount of $500 - $5,000 per year for a maximum of four years.
Scholarship auditions for incoming students are held during UST Audition Days. The Audition Day assessments double as the scholarship audition for incoming students.
In-House Scholarship Auditions

"In-House" scholarship auditions are held in May. Music majors have the opportunity to audition for first-time scholarships as well as upgrades to current scholarship packages. In addition to GPA, criteria for selection include presentation, musicianship, technical ability, tone, artistry and professional development.
All UST freshmen participating in one of the following ensembles: Women's Choir, Chamber Singers, Liturgical Choir, Concert Choir, Symphonic Band or Symphonic Wind Ensemble are eligible for the freshman option program. This program provides non-music major freshmen the opportunity to take 30-minute elective level lessons free of charge. The discount may be applied both fall and spring semesters. The freshman option applies to vocal lessons for students participating in the UST choirs. For UST band members, the discount applies to music lessons on the instrument played in the ensemble. Freshmen music majors recieve a 50% reduction on their first year of performance level lessons. The freshman option equates to a savings of approximately $1,000 per year for both music majors and non-majors.
The "Fine-Arts Award" includes the fulfillment of the fine arts core requirement with the completion of four semesters of large ensemble participation with no tuition charge (a savings of approximately $3,200). Four semesters of participation in the following ensembles fulfills the fine arts core requirement: Concert Choir, Liturgical Choir, Women's Choir, Chamber Singers, Symphonic Band or Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
