A Collection of Rounds and Canons Useful for Teaching in a Jr. High Choral Classroom
Sue Dieter Gilsdorf
This project is a collection of rounds and canons useful for teaching in a jr. high choral classroom. In the first section of this project, fifty pieces have been selected, notated, and analyzed for tone set, range, mode/scale, number of voices, rhythmic elements, time signature, tempo, existence or non-existence of an anacrusis, melodic elements, and instructional purpose. This music was selected with the middle level singer in mind. A balance was south in locating more complicated music for use at this level while still being accessible for this age of singer.
