Anita R. McLaughlin
The purpose of this study was to explore the influences of Hmong culture on Hmong elementary students in a Midwestern setting taught according to American music education methodologies. This purpose was explored by interviewing four members of the Midwest Hmong community (cultural insiders) and two English as a second language teachers (cultural outsiders) who work with Hmong students in St. Paul Public Schools, St. Paul, Minnesota.
