Alligning the Cedar Falls High School Vocal Music Curriculum With the Authentic Intellectual Work (AIW) Method Using the Comprehensive Musicianship Through Performance Method
Eliott Kranz
Abstract

The purpose of this project was to incorporate the Comprehensive Musicianship Through Performance Method into the Cedar Falls High School Vocal Music Curriculum. Currently, the vocal music curriculum at Cedar Falls High School is a series of standards and benchmarks with no set way to teach the standards and assess them. The results of the research in this paper will help restructure the current curriculum so it is more in line with the Iowa Core Curriculum, which asks for essential learnings and common assessments in each content area. Included at the end of this paper are teaching plans using the CMP method.
