The University of St. Thomas

Graduate Program

Welcome to Graduate Programs in Music Education at the University of St. Thomas!

Graduate Programs in Music Education (GPME) at the University of St. Thomas is a leading force in contemporary graduate music education studies in the United States.  Our unique course programming and workshops – centered around reflective practitioner, teacher/artist, and discovery learning models – have enticed students to travel from around the world to St. Paul, Minn., where they have discovered the joys of engaging in lifelong learning with colleagues who value strive to achieve their highest potential.

Since our arrival at St. Thomas in 1991, our students have celebrated the high quality of the education they have received, the collective strength and dedication of the student body, and the varied, in-depth experiences provided by our programs.  Our students contribute regularly to the profession as writers, performers, and clinicians, serve as leaders in local, state, and national professional organizations, and have found positions as administrators, Ph.D. candidates, and directors of arts programs.

Whether you are interested in taking an occasional class or delving into the rigors of our Master of Arts degree in Music Education, you will be investing in yourself when you join our lively community of talented and dedicated music teacher/artists.  Become a part of the St. Thomas tradition of excellence, innovation, and inspiration.
