A Welcome from the Director of Graduate Programs in Music Education

As I complete my tenth year at the University of St. Thomas, I'm reminded of the tremendous caliber of teacher-students who have been through Graduate Programs in Music Education (GPME) in these and prior years. As a leading force in graduate music education in the United States, our unique course programming and workshops have enticed students to travel to St. Paul, Minnesota since 1991 to connect with other dedicated instructors and students from around the world.

Our full-time and summer faculty are in the top of their fields in terms of teaching, scholarship, performance, and publishing--and in turn have influenced our students to contribute regularly to the profession as writers, performers, teachers, administrators, clinicians, and directors of arts programs.

With musical, scholarly, and praxial content at the center, our curricula and scheduling lend themselves to working professionals in enrolling in occasional classes or delving into the rigors of our Master of Arts degree in music education.

We welcome you to be a part of this tradition and environment, and to join our lively community of talented and dedicated music teacher-artists.

For further information, please contact the GPME office: gradmusic@stthomas.edu.

Sincerely,

Bruce P. Gleason, Ph.D.
