Will Kemperman is an active freelance percussionist in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. In recent years he has performed regularly with the Rochester (MN) Symphony Orchestra, Vocal Essence, and Singers in Accord. He has played drum set in productions by the History Theatre, Jungle Theater, Theater L'Homme Dieu, and New Century Theater. At home on a number of percussion instruments, including drum set, cajon, congas, and dumbek, Will has shared the stage with international Kirtan artists, Russill Paul, Brenda McMorrow, and Michael Cohen, as well as local artists, Sitara and Kalyani, Wild Moon Bhaktas, and Kirtan Path. Will has performed solo marimba at the Heartland Marimba Festival and Workshop, St. Mary's Episcopal Church in St. Paul, and at a number of weddings. He was also a featured percussion soloist in the Art of Sweat Rhythm Festivals I and II, in Minneapolis in the summers of 2007 and 2008.

As a teacher, Will works with beginning, intermediate, and advanced students, perfecting the art of musical expression through the various percussion instruments. He encourages students to develop high levels of technique so their musical ideas can fully take shape in all musical situations.

Will's current area of musical research is simultaneously playing the marimba and singing.

Will holds a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Wisconsin Madison, and received his undergraduate degree at Macalester College, in St. Paul
