Process for obtaining graduate credit from the University of St. Thomas
Attend three Kodály, three Orff, or a combination of three Orff and Kodály Saturday workshops. Chapter Sharing workshops are excluded from graduate credit.
Attend at least five Piano Pedagogy workshops during the annual summer workshop week held in August.
Attend an orchestra concert, an opera, and spend time in the museum - including pre and post sessions - during the annual Opera, MN Orchestra, and Weisman Art Museum teacher workshops held in April.
Write a brief description of each session. Include the following
Date of workshop
Identify the salient points presented
Discuss how the topic and presentation may or may not inform or impact your teaching.
Papers must be double-spaced and typed in Times New Roman or Times font.
Allow for one page per workshop
Include a cover page with the following information (all items are required):
Date of birth
Social Security number OR UST identification number (one of these is required)
Send your paper and fee to the address listed below. You can email your essay to firstname.lastname@example.org and mail the fee to the address listed below. Please write your last name and MUSW 501 on the reference line of your check.
Papers must be postmarked no later than May 1 of the current academic year for Orff, Kodaly and other approved workshops.
Papares must be postmarked no later than August 31 of the current academic year for Piano Pedagogy workshops.
Please note that grades will not be posted until full payment has been received.
