African Music Ensemble

About the Ensemble

The African Music Ensemble is a unique learning and playing experience.  Taught in traditional style by a native director, the ensemble uses authentic instruments, drums, flutes, and voices to create a truly African sound.  The repertoire includes Adowa, Agbadza, Gota, Kpanlogo and Boboobo.

Auditions

Registration for African Music Ensemble occurs at the beginning of each semester.  Undergraduate sections of the course are held during fall and spring semesters.  A graduate section of the course is held during summer term.
