The University of St. Thomas Department of Music offers many instrumental and choral ensembles.  We are proud of our award-winning groups, many of which have appeared at state, regional, national and international music conferences.  Our ensembles perform in a variety of venues including O'Shaughnessy Auditorium (St. Paul) and Orchestra Hall (downtown Minneapolis).  Taking pride in our innovative programming, UST ensembles have commissioned over 75 works by nationally recognized composers.  Instrumental and choral ensembles perform with guest artists from around the country and abroad and regularly appear on commercial recording labels.  Ensembles at UST include:

Ensemble Auditions

Incoming Students
Ensemble auditions for incoming students are held Labor Day Monday and the following Tuesday.  Please stop by the Music Department table during O&R to confirm your audition slot.

Current Students
Current students who are interested in joining an ensemble should contact the director to set up an audition time.

Did you know...

...students receive one elective credit free of charge each semester they participate in an ensemble

...first year students who participate in Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Guitar Ensemble, Liturgical Choir, Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, or Women's Choir are elibible for free 30-minute music lessons

...students may fulfill the Fine Arts Requirement free of charge by participating in Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Guitar Ensemble, Liturgical Choir, Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, or Women's Choir for four semesters
