The Liturgical Choir sings for the 11 a.m. Sunday liturgy and collaborates with the Concert Choir/Chamber Singers, Women's Choir, Handbell Choir, Brass Choir in the highly acclaimed annual university Christmas Concerts, commencement Mass and other special campus celebrations.
The choir's mission and outreach include service to local parish and faith communities, as well as a tradition of pilgrimage tours. The choir has toured throughout the country and has made eight international trips to Europe, Ireland and the Middle East. By invitation of the Vatican, the choir became the first guest American choir to sing for Christmas Eve Midnight Mass in St. Peter's Basilica presided by Pope John Paul II in 1987 and again in 1997. The choir participated in its third Christmas pilgrimage to Italy and the Eternal City in December 2007.
The Liturgical Choir is directed by Robert Strusinski.
Auditions for the Liturgical Choir are held on Arrival Weekend each fall.
