| Basic materials and structures of music, approached through analysis and experience. This course is the first of a four semester sequence integrates sight-singing and ear-training with the analysis of harmony, form and contrapuntal procedures from the 16th through the 20th centuries. Assingments will include the development of compositional and arranging skills including those skills needed to write for the standard instruments of the wind ensemble and orchestra. Lecture plus 100 minutes laboratory per week. Offered fall semester. | ||||||
