The Murphy Institute encourages and supports research of the Catholic intellectual tradition and its relevance to law and public polcy by organizing conference for national and international scholars.  Papers and reports and other publications are made available on this site whenever possible.

Curricular Support

Working to integrate the Catholic intellectual tradtion into the curriculum of the law school and the university's graduate programs, the Murphy Institute commissions teaching materials and financially supports faculty and student research. Publications are made available on this site whenever possible.

Public Policy Analysis

The Institute serves as a resource to the civic community and church by providing nonpartisan analysis of public policy chanlleges facing the church at the local, national and international levels.  We support the work of the Missions of the Holy See to the United Nations in both New York and Geneva through internships and fellowships for alumni of the joint J.D./M.A. Catholic Studies degree program.  We commission policy reports by world renowned experts to support the research of the Caritas in Veritate Foundation in Geneva.

Public Events

We offer public lectures from prominent speakers, interdisciplinary panel discussions on topical issues, workshops, seminars and other events of interest to a wide audience.  Videos of most of our public programming can be found on our Past Events page.
