2008 Charitable Giving Campaign Draws to a Close

Thank you to all who contributed to the 2008 Charitable Giving Campaign.  Thus far our St. Thomas community has raised $46,627.10 for the seven supported federations and other charities that were specifically designated by you.

This year the seven federations, a number of St. Thomas units and several outside organizations contributed items to be awarded in a drawing at the end of the campaign.  The drawing was open to all who were either new contributors to the campaign or who increased their pledge by 10% over last year.

Listed below are those whose names were drawn.  (If your name is listed, please come to the Office for Mission (Aquinas Hall room 104A) or call 2-5200 to arrange to receive your item(s).

Congratulations to all -- and thank you, again, for your wonderful support of our Charitable Giving Campaign and of our community!

Consider donating to the Charitable Giving Campaign

The 2008 Charitable Giving Campaign begins September 28 and runs through October 12.  Through the annual Charitable Giving Campaign, faculty and staff have the opportunity to voluntarily provide financial support to a number of charitable federations.  Employees receive information in the mail about each of the charitable federations, along with a pledge form.  If you do not receive information in the mail, please contact the Office for Mission.

Federation information

Faculty and staff have the opportunity to voluntarily provide financial support to one or all of the following nonprofit federations:

  • Community Health Charities
  • Community Shares of Minnesota (formerly Community Solutions Fund)
  • Minnesota Environmental Fund
  • Open Your Heart to the Hungry and the Homeless
  • United Arts
  • United Negro College Fund
  • United Way

In addition to the federations above, please note that, if you prefer, you may designate a specific agency of your choice to be the recipient of your donation (e.g. Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services, United Jewish Fund, etc.).

This is a special opportunity that we have, as the St. Thomas community, to make a significant impact on the Twin Cities and its environs.

As our theme states:

"Let's challenge ourselves...and change our world!"
