It might also be a good idea to talk to the International Office (Akademisches Auslandsamt) of a university you are interested in or other international organizations at this university. They might be able to help you to find ways of financing your study abroad, find a place to live, or help you with many of the administrative procedures. Also, they are the ones who will help you with everything connect to you immigration!
