Taking Languages off Campus

Students that wish to take a foreign language not offered by the department of Modern and Classical Languages should take the language at an ACTC school (Augsburg College, Hamline University, Macalester College or St. Catherine University).  The following are languages taught at an ACTC school that are not taught at UST:

AUGSBURG COLLEGE 

HAMLINE UNIVERSITY

MACALESTER COLLEGE

ST. CATHERINE UNIVERSITY

  • American Sign Language (ASL) “American Sign Language (ASL)” page

 

Students that wish to take a foreign language that is not offered at an ACTC school should contact the department of Modern and Classical Languages for assistance:  mcl@stthomas.edu or 651-962-5150. 

Core level courses are only offered for Arabic, Ancient Greek, Irish Gaelic, Italian, and Japanese.  Before registering, students should first get the approval of the Department Chair, Dr. Derrin Pinto, drpinto@stthomas.edu .
