A major or minor concentration in French:
Students graduating with a major in French will have a solid understanding of the French language and the ability to use the language effectively in speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing. They will have developed the skills necessary for the study, analysis, and interpretation of a wide range of cultural texts, including literary texts.

Major concentrations in language with business 
(international business — language intensive)
Students graduating with a major in international business — language intensive will be able to demonstrate a command of the appropriate language for use in business and professional life, will understand the historical and cultural development of the countries of that language, and will understand the business practices and economic structure of those countries.


Major concentration in language with English (literary studies)

Courses for the non-major 
to fulfill the Language and Culture component of the core curriculum.

Undergraduate Academic Catalog:

Topics course:  France Today

The course will be based mainly on discussions of the various topics studied and will be conducted entirely in French.  It is intended for all students of French who 

  1. have studied in or intend to study in France
  2. plan on a career which involves working in France or a Francophone country
  3. desire to learn about French history and civilization during the past half century.
