Prerequisite: Completion of SPAN 212 or its equivalent with a C- or better average in all lower division language courses (SPAN 111, 112, 211, 212).

Readings in literatures and cultures of Spanish-America from the pre-Columbian period through the 21st century. The course includes masterworks of Latin American prose, poetry, and theater. Historical contexts and other artistic productions are considered as they illuminate the literary works in question. Prerequisites: Successful completion of SPAN 300, 301, 305 and 335 or their equivalents with a C- or better in each course
