| The first year of elementary Arabic is designed for non-native beginners in the arabic language to primarily learn the formal form of Arabic also known as Modern Standard Arabic. During the year, students will learn how to express basic communication idioms and needs in Arabic. The year begins with learning the alphabet and progresses into learning how to read elementary level Arabic, writing simple sentances, and speaking basic and introductory idioms. Listening drills and exercises are also practiced in class and in the language lab. | ||||||
