About Ava Youngblood, Chief Executive Officer
Ava D. Youngblood, Chief Executive Officer of Youngblood Executive Search, Inc., and possessing over 25 years of corporate and recruiting experience founded Youngblood Executive Search, Inc. in 2002 and Youngblood Executive Services, LLC in 2011. Youngblood Executive Search/Services helps clients identify, recruit, develop and retain executives who build and sustain high performing organizations. Prior to her executive search career, Mrs. Youngblood spent nineteen years in the global energy/petrochemical industry with BP (Amoco) in various roles with increasing levels of responsibility ranging from Research and Development, Operations Planning & Logistics, Quality Management, Sales and Marketing, Executive Development, Strategic Planning and Competitive Intelligence.
In addition to an active professional career, Ava is actively involved in the community and currently serves as President of the Northwestern University Women’s Board, member of the McCormick School of Engineering Advisory Council and Chemical and Biological Engineering Advisory Council, Council of One Hundred, former Northwestern University Trustee and former President of the Northwestern Alumni Association. For the many years of distinguished service to Northwestern, Ava was awarded Northwestern’s Alumni Service Award in 2009. Ava also serves as Board Chairman of Herzing Educational System, and on the Board of Directors of Herzing Educational Foundation, Communities in Schools of Chicago (CISC), Communities in Schools National Board and Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. Professional organization memberships include, charter member of The Marathon Club, The Economic Club of Chicago, The Executive’s Club of Chicago, University of Chicago, Booth School of Business Black Alumni Association and The Fortnightly of Chicago. In addition to being a frequent speaker, Ms. Youngblood has been featured in the book, Mothers Lead Best, and numerous magazines including Business Week, Forbes, Working Woman and Information Technology.
Ava is a graduate of Northwestern University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business where she earned her MBA.
Ava and her husband, Haj Gueye of HAJ Designs, live in Chicago. They have five children.
