About Mark McLane
Mark McLane is the Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) for Barclays. Mark is responsible for driving the global D&I strategy through strategic lead business plans, embedding global agendas to drive effective results, and aligning business metrics to the goal of becoming the ‘Go-To’ bank.
Prior to Barclays, Mark was the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for Booz Allen Hamilton, a professional services firm in Washington D.C. While there he developed and implemented a firm-wide diversity strategy including initiatives that leveraged the inherent differences within Booz Allen’s workforce. Under Mark’s leadership these initiatives aligned with the organisation’s vision of assuring continued growth in an increasingly competitive and global market.
Mark also held the position of Chief Diversity Officer for Whirlpool Corporation, a Fortune 500 global consumer product company in Benton Harbor Michigan. Under Mark’s leadership Whirlpool Corporation successfully implemented a global Diversity and Inclusion embedment strategy positioning the Company as a recognised leader in the industry. In addition to his role as a human resources leader, Mark has an extensive background in innovation, strategy development, marketing and sales across U.S. and international markets.
Mark is a member of the global leadership council at Diversity Best Practices, a member of the Hidden Brain Drain for the Center for Talent Innovation and co-chair of the Human Rights Campaign Executive Diversity Council.
Mark holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
