Filemon Lopez is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Operations for Comcast. Recognized as the first Hispanic executive in the organization, Mr. Lopez holds a leading role in the company’s Hispanic diversity efforts, where he focuses on building and strengthening relationships and promoting and growing critical community based projects within those communities. In addition, he serves as a key advisor and strategist to David Cohen, Comcast’s Chief Diversity Officer, and works intimately with the new Corporate Diversity Organization. Mr. Lopez also works with NBCU/Telemundo to explore synergies between Telemundo and Comcast as a member of the Hispanic Action Team.  Mr. Lopez is also involved in several employee engagement initiatives.

Mr. Lopez is the recipient of numerous awards, including Comcast President’s Award, 1992; CAB President’s Award, 1993; and the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement Salute to Excellence Award, 1999.  From 2004 to 2011 Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology Magazine has selected Mr. Lopez as one of the “Most Important Hispanics in Technology and Business”. Cableworld Magazine has also recognized Mr. Lopez as one of the “Most Influential Minorities in Cable”, a distinction bestowed on cable executives that have demonstrated strong leadership skills and success in fostering diversity within the workplace.  In 2008, the Diamantes of South Florida selected Mr. Lopez as an Outstanding Hispanic Leader in South Florida and One Community recognized him as a Silver Medallion Award recipient. Additionally, in 2010, Mr. Lopez’s region was recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as one of the best places to work in South Florida.  In 2011, he was recognized by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami as a “Big Brothers Big Sisters Miracle Maker, also by The Urban League of Broward County bestowing Mr. Lopez with their “Diversity Champion Award”, the highest award in the organization, and by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County with the “Child Advocate and Leading Corporate Visionary Award”. In 2013 Hispanic Business Magazine recognized Mr. Lopez as one of the top 25 Hispanic business executives in the United States.
