About Milt Liu
Milt Liu is a Director in the Merchandising Pyramid at Target. With his wife and three young boys, he moved to Minneapolis from Chicago to join Target in 2004.
When Milt first joined Target, he was quite naïve about the challenges he would face as an “external” leader in Merchandising. Through his experience, he became a student and leader of OnBoarding. He personally mentors a number of new team members and he is eager to develop programs to help all new team members get more quickly acclimated to Target and the Fast, Fun and Friendly culture.
He is also the Sponsor of the OnBoarding Initiative for Target’s four Business Councils. Milt and his Business Council working group are implementing a program to “help new team members connect fast and authentically” to enhance Target’s ability to retain diverse talent. He is very excited about how quickly they have pulled together and achieved some early wins, including the well-attended first forum on “The Unwritten Rules of Target.” His 2010 challenge will be to sustain the momentum by executing the plan and collaborating with his partners in Diversity, Talent Acquisition and other business pyramids to ensure he has the right champions and support.
