About Andrea Lewis, M.A., Ph.D.

Andrea is the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for BAE Systems, Inc., responsible for designing and executing a strategy to foster a diverse, inclusive, high-performing workplace. She leads culture transformation, workforce engagement, and leadership initiatives to create and retain a diverse workforce. Andrea joined BAE Systems, Inc. in 2008 in the role of Director, Talent and Leadership Development within the Land and Armaments Sector, where she was responsible for all talent and leadership development as well as diversity efforts.

Andrea has been in the talent, leadership and organization development field her entire career, starting out at the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA),and holding progressively responsible positions in a variety of industries (including Freddie Mac, a mortgage and financial services company, and Digene, a biotechnology company dedicated to women’s health), as well as in small and large consulting firms.

She has authored several articles and presented at conferences on the topics of women and leadership, career development and talent management. Andrea earned a BA from Brandeis University and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from George Washington University.
