About Gerald Fernandez
Gerry Fernandez is founder and President of MFHA, an educational non-profit think tank that promotes the economic benefits of cultural diversity in the restaurant, foodservice & lodging industries. Under Gerry's leadership, MFHA has become the industry's main source for multicultural information and education.
He conducts lectures, workshops and strategy sessions for some of America's best-known companies, organizations and brands. An accomplished restaurateur and foodservice professional with more than thirty years’ experience in the industry, Gerry has received numerous awards including being named one of industry's ""Fifty Power Players"" by Nation's Restaurant News. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Foodservice Management from Johnson & Wales University where he also received an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration for his contribution to expanding the industry's diversity efforts. He is a trustee of the University and serves on the board of The Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
Gerry is married, has three sons, six grandchildren and lives with his wife, Debra (Jackson) in Warwick, Rhode Island.
