About Rene Deida, M.P.A.

As senior director of integrated strategies at the Prudential Foundation, Rene is responsible for the foundation’s grantmaking strategies in international and key domestic markets. The Prudential strength for capacity initiative, which provides capacity-building resources for nonprofits to improve their infrastructure, is under his leadership. Previously, René managed the Foundation’s youth development portfolio and the Prudential Neighborhood Partnership Program. Prior to joining Prudential in 2000, René worked in community development in Puerto Rico and served as the executive director of St. Columbia Neighborhood Club, a Newark based nonprofit organization that became a leading service provider of HIV / AIDS services in the Latino community.

René is the development director for Gotham Volleyball League and has served as chairman of the Newark EMA HIV Planning Council and as a member of the New Jersey HIV Prevention Community Planning Group and the Newark EZ/EC Advisory Board.  He holds a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Public Administration from Rutgers University.
