About Ian Cannon
Ian Cannon is a Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne (PWR) Diversity Council Charter Member and is their longest standing member- since 1986. He facilitated the evolution of this group from an Equal Opportunity Advisory Council to the 1999 formation of the current group responsible for diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Ian is a key contributor to PWR Diversity Strategy development and execution. In this capacity he guides definition of actions and related metrics, in support of objectives and goals. Mr. Cannon leads a Diversity Council action team focused on engaging the workforce to understand both the definition- and value- of diversity in the workplace.
An integral part of PWR’s Diversity training programs since 1999, Ian developed requirements and participated in evaluating responsive vendors for a curriculum focused on understanding cultural differences. Mr. Cannon is certified as an instructor and a Master Trainer for this mandatory training.
Cannon is recognized as a corporate Diversity resource. He travels extensively to address Diversity-related issues - both responses to audits, and for handling “trouble spot” situations.
Ian compiled and prepared Top 25 Diversity Councils application to Association of Diversity Councils, which resulted in the PWR Diversity Council earning honors as #3 in the U.S. for 2008.
