About Leondias Butcher

Leondias (Lee) Butcher brings energy and passion to diversity and inclusion work along with the structural discipline and practical expertise learned as an engineer and business manager. As a champion of diversity and inclusion in the hiring, retention and promotion of employees, his efforts and partnerships have led to a strong relationships with historically black colleges and universities and an increased presence of women and minorities at leadership levels. His work has created a greater awareness of and dedication toward valuing diversity and a company-wide focus on the value an inclusive work environment inherently brings in terms of competitive advantage and business performance. Lee has successfully influenced senior leadership, human resources and the overall employee base by making a connection between the Medtronic mission and the business case for diversity and inclusion. He has developed several innovative tools and resources that have expanded diversity initiatives across Medtronic including: diversity metrics, new employee orientation, professional network associations, mentoring programs, employee resource groups, field sales initiatives for employees of color and Medtronic’s CEO Inclusion Award presented to employee diversity champions.
