Congressman Ellison and Major General Nash discussed the role of religion in U.S. Foreign Policy. From designing foreign policy to implementing it on the ground, religion is a critical factor for consideration. The U.S. has struggled with how to address the role of religion in the implementation of its foreign policy. From the Dali Lama to Ayatollah Sistani to the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt the U.S. must engage powerful religious leaders.
