Dr. Nichols received his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Marquette University in 1988. Since 1988 he has been teaching courses in systematic theology, theology and science, world religions, death and afterlife, and ecclesiology at the University of St. Thomas. From 2002-2006 he was chair of the theology department. He has been a commissioner on the national Faith and Order Commission since 2000, and has been involved in Muslim-Christian dialogue for about twelve years. His most recent book is The Sacred Cosmos (Brazos Press, 2003). He is presently completing a book on Death and Afterlife.
Dr. Ozdemir, a native of Turkey, taught Quranic rhetoric at Nine September University in Izmir, Turkey, for twenty five years. Since 2003 he has been teaching courses on Islam at the University of St. Thomas. He is the co-author (with Kenneth Frank) of Visible Islam in Modern Turkey (Macmillan, 2000).
