In this Issue: From Career and Professional Development
This year's Annual Fund was a great success. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the alumni who helped with the fund drive by contributing their time and/or money. We couldn't have done so well without the help of so many great people.
Yesterday, September 8 it came to our attention that U.S. News and World Report released a new Law School ranking "Best Law Schools: Whose 2007 graduates are most likely to be employed as Federal judicial clerks with Article III Federal judges?" We inadvertently provided incorrect data to U.S. News and World Report, and we are currently working with U.S. News to fix this error and have contacted authors of blog postings highlighting the data.
For the class of 2007, at the time of the reporting 22 out of 130 employed graduates were working in judicial clerkships. Of those, 1 was clerking for an Article III Federal Judge. An Article III Federal Judge is a judge with a lifetime appointment. The statistics should read 16.9% and 0.8% respectively if the total is out of employed graduates, or 15.7% and 0.7% if it is out of the entire class.
The Career and Professional Development Office continues to work with alumni on all types of placements in addition to judicial placements. For more information contact the Career and Professional Development Office.
