Message from Director of Alumni Relations - Leadership Opportunities

Dear alumni,

Are you interested in serving in a leadership role at the UST School of Law?  Serving as a member of the Alumni Board is an opportunity to develop your leadership skills and will provide you with an opportunity to gain valuable board experience. 

Through an appointments process, members of the 2011 Alumni Board will be appointed.  If you are interested in serving in a leadership role, please consider applying for the following Board positions that commence January 1, 2011:

Secretary/Treasurer:  an officer position, automatic succession to the position of President-elect, President and Past-president.

Director, 2 year term:  a voting member of the Board, 8 positions open.

Information regarding the application process is available on-line. Applications are due November 30, 2010.

Student Loan Repayment Plans and Forgiveness Programs

As part of the College Cost Reduction and Access Act (CCRAA) of 2007, there were some programs created to help make student loan repayment easier for student loan borrowers. Learn more about the Income-Based Repayment (IBR) Plan and the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. More...

Alumni Success Stories

Shauna Faye Kieffer ('08) co-authored the article Padilla Motions: Effective Assistance of Counsel Where Pleas Mandate Deportation, with the Hon. John L. Holahan.  The article was published in Bench & Bar of Minnesota, August 2010.

Maggie Green ('08) featured a guest post titled Solo Practice: Three Tips for Getting Started  on August 17, 2010, on Lawyerist.  Maggie Green is a solo practitioner in Minneapolis, MN. Her legal practice focuses on estate planning and probate services.

Graham M. Martin ('07) featured a guest post titled Marketing Monday on August 23, 2010, on Lawyerist.  Graham Martin is a solo practitioner in Minneapolis, MN. His legal practice focuses on general civil litigation and family law.

Joe Fricke's ('10) run for the Minnesota Senate was featured in a July 9, 2010 article in Politics in Minnesota.


The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation recognized law alumni Ryan Green ('07) and Alex DeMarco ('06) as up-and-coming young professionals during the Twin Cities 25 Finest event on July 22, 2010.  As honorees at the event, they were recognized for their work in the community.
