U.S. News & World Report releases annual law school rankings

The annual U.S. News rankings of law schools were released this week, and the University of St. Thomas School of Law tied for 135.  This is the first time that the University of St. Thomas School of Law has been numerically ranked, reflecting a change in U.S. News and World Report policy.  The previous four tier system has been replaced by a two tier system with schools in the top 143 ranked numerically in the top tier and schools above that placed in the second tier and listed alphabetically rather than in numeric order.  There were many ties in what had traditionally been the top 100 including an eleven way tie at 89 and a four way tie at 135.  More...

Alumni Relations Office Seeks Suggestions for Free/Low Cost CLEs

As a service to our wonderful graduates, the Office of Alumni Relations will host at least two free or low cost CLE opportunities for alumni and friends.  This spring the Alumni Relations Office hosted a  CLE on starting a solo practice, as well as the upcoming CLE on conversations about race and racism.  We would like to keep this trend going!  To help us identify CLEs that meet your needs, let the Director of Alumni Relations, Nicole Fredricks Jackson, know what CLE opportunities you would like to see.  Also, if you are interested in teaching a CLE, please let us know.  Nicole Fredricks Jackson can be reached at 651-962-4863 or

Would you like to have business referred to you? Or, would you like to refer business to a fellow UST Law grad?  Visit Lawyer Search

In 2009 the Office of Alumni Relations launched School of Law Lawyer Search, a business development tool for UST Law graduates.  Lawyer Search is free and a great way for alumni and friends of the law school to seek out and hire our wonderful alumni.  Alumni currently registered on Lawyer Search tell us that they are receiving business and referrals as a result. Register your profile here, today! Or, visit Lawyer Search to find a fellow UST Law graduate working in a specific state or business/practice area.
