A Message from Dean Thomas Mengler   

Dear Alumni,

We’ve kicked-off our 5th Annual Giving Campaign (2010) and I invite you to contribute to a history and tradition of success.  UST Law has been a national leader – claiming the #1 spot in the country for annual giving among all ABA accredited law schools – for four consecutive years.  Despite a downturn in the economy in 2009, we increased our percentage of participation 2%, and reported an annual giving campaign percentage of 54.2%.  

As we work to advance our unique mission, I often speak about professional identity formation and our educational goal to educate the whole person.  More specifically, we seek to assist students in their journeys to become servant leaders.  A part of our distinctive mission is to place before students working success stories, those lawyers who are living lives worth emulating.

 

I am proud to report that our alumni, both individually and collectively, provide so many success stories for our students.  And collectively, the high level participation in our annual giving campaign is a powerful example of the alumni investment in UST Law and servant leadership in action. 

 

I remain grateful for your contributions and confidence in UST Law.  I invite you to continue to contribute to the success, and retain the top seat in annual giving.

The UST Law Alumni Program Committee and the MSBA Civic Eduaction Committee are co-sponsoring a CLE to encourage the legal community to push beyond pro bono work.  More information is available here.

  

March 24 - How Are the Children Part III

This symposium will discuss solutions to dismantling the pipeline to prison through the exploration of preventative measures, early intervention strategies and rehabilitation techniques. More information is available here.

 

April 8 - Second Thursday Alumni Happy Hour

April 13 - What Diversity Can Teach Us About the Changing Relationship Between Companies and Law Firms.

This event, featuring David Wilkins, Lester Kissel Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, will be hosted by the Holloran Center Center for Ethical Leadership in Professions.  More information is available here.

 

May 15 - Class of 2005 Five Year Reunion

May 27 -  Alumni Outing - Twins Game (SOLD OUT)

With blazing speed, the Law Alumni Social Committee event for the Twins v. New York Yankees game at 7:10 p.m. on May 27 sold out.  Look for more opportunities to connect with alumni this summer.

Law School Classes for Audit   

Are there electives you wish you had taken that never fit into your class schedule? Now you can.  UST Law alumni can audit any law school course on a space available basis with faculty permission. The cost of auditing is one credit hour per course, regardless of the course credit offered.
