Advent Tree-Lighting Service

Lower Quad
Join the St. Thomas community for the annual tradition to light the quad and creche scene atop the arches. Dr. Deborah Savage, faculty at the Saint Paul Seminary, will give a reflection. Musicians from the Department of Music will lead songs and refreshments will be served following.

Mark your calendar for the Day of Adoration and Confession in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas. This is an opportunity to prepare more fully for the joyful celebration of Christmas!
Adoration following 7 a.m. Mass until 8:30 p.m.
Confession available from 12:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
The hours of the Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours) celebrated throughout the day.
The day concludes with the Study Monday Mass at 8:30 p.m.
UST Schola Cantorum

Aquinas Chapel
The UST Schola Cantorum, under the direction of Aaron Brown,will collaborate with local organist Kraig Windschitl to present a concert of J.S. Bach solo organ works based on Gregorian Chant. This concert is in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Gabriel Kney organ.
Advent Retreat for Daily Living
Offered on the Minneapolis campus by law professor Susan Stabile.

Advent is an important time for Christians. It is a time of preparation. A time during which we wait in joyful hope for the coming of Jesus. Even though we approach the end of the fall semester (and exams) it is important that we take some time to enter into this wonderful season.
This retreat is designed to both explore what it means to wait in joyful hope and to prepare ourselves to welcome the Christ child into our hearst and homes. We will do so by reflecting on the meaning of Advent and on the invitation it offers us. We will look at some models of response to that invitation presented to us in Scripture and talk about what it means to us to accept God's invitation to transformation. We will gather weekly for some sharing on the fruits of our prayer during the week (material for daily prayer will be provided) and a talk on the week's prayer theme.

Advent Food for Thought Reflection
During Advent, the Church encourages us to prepare our minds and hearts for the coming of Christ. Come and share a meal at the Advent Food for Thought Reflections as we meditate upon our anticipation of Christ during this blessed season. Advent Food for Thought will be held in the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Leather Room on Tuesday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 11 from 6-7 PM.
