The Mathematics Resource Center (MaRC) in O'Shaughnessy Science Center 235 supports student learning in mathematics through free drop-in peer tutoring as a service of the UST Mathematics Department for any ACTC student taking MATH 100 through 200.
Solution manuals for all supported mathematics courses are available for use with the deposit of a UST student ID card. Group study areas, wireless connectivity and extra learning sessions are other features of the MaRC.
The MaRC is also headquarters for Math Placement Exam preparation, questions and administration.
On November 10th, Math Student Appreciation Day, the MaRC tutors and paper graders were honored by a service awards presentation.

| Dr. Brenda Tiefenbruck |
Dr. Brenda Tiefenbruck, as the Math Resource Center's director, was singled out for her recruitment of women, international students and students of color for tutoring positions in MaRC and for applying for the NSF grant that enabled FAP's creation.
"As a student tutor in MaRC, I know firsthand that Ms. Tiefenbruck is acutely aware of the challenges many students face when learning mathematics," her nominator wrote. "She understands that it is often not the math content but the climate of learning that may be difficult for students."
