Scholarships

The actuarial science program annually awards a number of scholarships funded by regional, national and international insurance and consulting companies. Corporate partners also support other student activities, including an exam fee reimbursement program for students who successfully pass actuarial exams.

 

Through the Center for Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, students have the opportunity during summer months to work on research projects related to practical insurance problems. These projects include student stipends. Limited number of free summer student housing is also available. Past research projects include “Optimal Timing of Social Security Benefits”, “Pricing Models for Long-term Care Insurance” and “Post-Retirement Benefits Costs.”
