Ways to Get into Calculus II

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus Exams 
    • A score of at least 3 on the AP AB-Exam will earn you credit for Calculus I and will allow you to register for Calculus II. 
    • A score of at least 4 on the AP BC-Exam will earn you credit for both Calculus I and II 
    • If the AP BC-Exam score is less than 4, but the AB-Subscore is at least 3, then you will earn credit for Calculus I and will be allowed to register for Calculus II.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) "Higher level" Calculus Exams 
    • A score of at least 5 on the IB "Higher level" Calculus Exam will earn you credit for Calculus I and will allow you to register for Calculus II.
  • Calculus II Placement Exam (C2PE) 
    • Problems may be open-ended or multiple-choice; you may be asked to show your work 
    • The C2PE has no cost and can be taken through the MaRC 
    • Passing the C2PE will allow you to register for Calculus II, but you will NOT receive credit for Calculus I
  • Formal UST Calculus I Credit by Examination
  • Earning UST college credit for Calculus I or Calculus W/Review II with a C- or better will allow you to register for Calculus II.
