The Life/Work Center is staffed with professional career and licensed personal counselors. Day and evening appointments are available. There is no fee for appointments. (A minimal fee is required if you choose to complete a formal assessment instrument.) To request an appointment, call (651) 962-6761. Clients develop a foundation for life/work growth, development, and balance by integrating interests, personality, values, abilities, and experiences with employment variables and personal needs and concerns.Counseling and consultation is provided for:

• Career choice and decision-making
• Self-assessment
• Career and midlife review and renewal
• Job displacement and transition
• Research for specific careers, employers, and industries
• Technology resources for job-search and career development
• Review and development of interviewing, resume, and job search skills
• Coaching for career and life success

Personal counseling services are available for individuals without insurance or who want to assess their counseling needs and appropriate resources in their community. All sessions are confidential.

Throughout the year, the Life/Work Center staff offers seminars for graduate students and alumni/ae seeking information on a variety of career-related topics. Check Events for a description and calendar of upcoming workshops and seminars.

• An extensive array of online resources pertaining to Vocational, Social, Emotional, Intellectual, Physical, and Spiritual issues can be accessed through the Life/Work Model.

• The Mentorship Program is Career Services' internet database of UST alumni/ae and friends working in a wide range of fields and organizations. These individuals have agreed to serve as networking contacts for UST students. This resource is organized by occupation/profession, organization/company, and UST major or field of study.

Professionals can enrich students, alumni/ae, and friends of St. Thomas by developing and /or presenting life/work programs to a class or gathering.
